Hi there Reader! Spring is almost here, and I always start thinking about strawberries this time of year. Even before the first berries show up at the farm stands, the thought of strawberry shortcake, homemade jam, and warm cobbler feels like the start of a new season in the kitchen. There is something about strawberries that simply tastes like spring. Strawberry shortcake has always been my favorite way to welcome spring! So today Iβm sharing four of our favorite strawberry recipes, from fresh milled sourdough shortcake to an easy strawberry cobbler that is perfect served warm with homemade vanilla ice cream. Here are the recipes Iβm sharing today: β’ Fresh Milled Wheat Sourdough Strawberry Shortcakeβ βFresh Milled Wheat Sourdough Strawberry Shortcakeβ This version of strawberry shortcake uses fresh milled wheat and sourdough for a tender, flavorful biscuit base. Topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, it is one of my favorite ways to celebrate the start of strawberry season. βEasy Strawberry Cobbler Sourdough Discard Recipeβ If you have sourdough discard sitting in the fridge, this easy strawberry cobbler is a great way to use it. The warm, bubbling strawberries and soft cobbler topping make this a simple dessert that always disappears quickly. Serve it warm with a scoop of my Best Homemade French Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Recipe for a classic combination that is hard to beat. βEasy Milled Wheat Strawberry Sourdough Quick Breadβ This strawberry quick bread is made with fresh milled wheat and sourdough starter for extra flavor. It is soft, slightly sweet, and perfect with a cup of coffee in the morning or as an afternoon treat. βHomemade Strawberry Pie with Fresh Strawberriesβ There is something timeless about a homemade strawberry pie. A flaky crust filled with fresh strawberries makes this one of those desserts that never goes out of style. Whether you are baking, making dessert for family, or simply dreaming of warmer days ahead, I hope these strawberry recipes bring a little taste of spring to your kitchen.
