Staying Warm, Cozy Baking, and a Few Favorites for Snowy Days

Hi Reader!

I wanted to check in this week, especially with this massive snowstorm affecting so many people right now. Over 200 million are expected to be impacted, and chances are, many of us are right in the middle of it. We’re praying that everyone stays safe, warm, and well through these next few days.

As for us, we’re doing what we always do when a big storm is coming. Making sure the animals are settled, extra feed and bedding ready, and taking care of any little repairs that need mending before the weather hits. There’s a bit of stress in making sure we haven’t missed anything, but we’re doing our best to prepare now before the storm moves in.

With all this time at home, I thought I’d share a few cozy recipes you might enjoy baking while the snow falls.

The Best Sourdough Pretzels (Easy Overnight Recipe)
These are such a hit in our house. Soft, chewy, and perfect for kids or grandkids. They’re great for a snowy afternoon project and even better fresh from the oven.

Best Easy Fudgy Sourdough Brownies Discard Recipe
If you’re craving something rich and comforting, these are it. Deep chocolate flavor, simple ingredients, and a great way to use up discard.

Sourdough Discard Apple Crumble Coffee Cake Recipe This is one I’ve been making for about 15 years now, and it’s still one of my absolute favorites! Warm apples, cozy spices, and that crumble topping make it perfect for winter mornings.

And one more thing I wanted to share, especially with how dry and cold this season can be.

Tallow Face Balm for Fine Lines and Mature Skin
This one is slightly different from last week’s Deeply Hydrating Old-Fashioned Tallow Face Cream. It’s formulated more specifically for mature skin and has been so nourishing for me this time of year.

I hope wherever you are, you’re staying safe, warm, and tucked in with something good baking in the oven.

Sending love and prayers from our little corner of the world,
Stephanie
